Lower Cost Health Insurance Initiative for Members of UFA, JM & Other Cultural and Religious Organizations of USA. OPEN TO ALL
Individuals, employees, and small or mid-size business owners have all seen an increase in health insurance premiums. To tackle this, Urban Food Alliance – a nonprofit charity organization, has launched an initiative to offer health insurance to its members and affiliate/supporting organizations in the USA at cost.
This will be achieved by taking advantage of our agility of being registered in multiple US States with lower healthcare premiums and adding volume-based member discounts – very similar to how large corporations offer health insurance to their employees. There is strength in numbers: a large group of people will be able to get lower rates than individuals by themselves. Therefore, those who currently are not covered under employer-sponsored health care plans but who have individual insurance (including those covered under COBRA) will be able to get lower rates if they join Urban Food Alliance and join our health care plan. We believe that alleviating hunger is not the only way to help people; making sure people have access to proper health care is also a necessity.
The first step in this process is to gauge interest from you all. As this initiative is open to all, please feel free to share this form with any organization you are affiliated with or any individuals you may know who need it. The more members who want to sign up for health insurance with us, the better our rates will be. Feel free to reach out to Frat Iqbal at Frat@urbanfoodalliance.org if you have any questions or suggestions.
How do you get started: Please take this survey for us to help us understand your needs.
